Losing You

lyrics

(Verse 1)
Listen, I know that we've been done for a while now/
But there ain't no closure so i thought i'd speak my heart now/
You wanted a new dude, that cool ,I understand/
But you coulda let me know, that's the part i cannot stand/

did you say no? No you just up and left/
you took my heart with you it was something deft/
counting all the times did i do something wrong/
To lose a love that we both said was so strong/

All you ever had to say was you were done/
It would have hurt but much less than your desertion/
I wanted more but I would have settled as a friend though/
I'm the love slug but you, you're the black widow/

Or so you told me on a long night's talk/
I remember many hours spent on hikes and walks/
I'm not the type to carry on resentment/
But you never should have left while returning the sentiment/

(Verse 2)
After you left I knew to move on/
But in my heart I was asking 'Could I move on?'/
I had to try and I started making progress/
And so regardless of thoughts that I harnessed/

I'd find a new love, replace the old one/
While thinking you'd be back to the one I was holding/
And then you messaged me,2 years after diappearing/
tears welling in my eyes here comes that feeling/

Then you told me that you missed me - miserable/
And you said that you'd be back again - miracle/
And then you asked if I would wait for you/
And you knew that I would cause that's what i do/

2 days later you messaged me frantic/
I didn't understand why you were in a panic/
I started questioning before another exodus/
Turns out that your boyfriend read your messages/

(Verse 3)
If I'm being honest, and I am I promise/
I'd be lying if I said what you did was harmless/
I think of what we had and what could of been/
But it just wasn't meant and so it wasn't then/

I'm not writing this to make you feel bad/
It's just my side of the talk that we should have had/
There's two sides and I often wish I had yours/
But that's past and locked up behind doors/

This is my way to lock up this loose end/
I'm shattered that it seems that I lost a true friend/
I'm hoping that you're happy, have all you ever need/
That your family's full of glee and bound to succeed/

I pray that all your dreams come true/
When I look up to the skys, yeah I'll look for you
I'm truly hoping that this finds you well/
Maybe one day we'll be friends again, time will tell/
